The client is a leading New York railroad, one of the largest public transportation service provider on the western hemisphere transporting 3.5 million passengers on a daily basis. The US Federal Railway Administration (FRA), the regulator for railroad operators in the US, requests that every railroad company keep a daily log of conductor activities as a safety requirement. The client used to manually input the logs, resulting in delays and errors. Because it could not meet the FRA's requirements, the client had to pay penalties every quarter.
ExperExchange developed an automated log recognition system for the client, using advanced form recognition technologies. The system reduced log processing time from 6 minutes to 0.5 minute per form with an increased accuracy rate of 99%. Since then, the client has exceeded FRA requirements.
