MacOS X Development

The client is an equipment company in the education industry, with their products compatible with various systems. The release of MacOS X from Apple was a new challenge as more and more schools were upgrading to the MacOS X system. The client decided their next generation products must be compatible or communicate with MacOS X. Due to our significant development experience on the Apple platforms, the engineering work was outsourced to ExperExchange. To port the management application from MacOS 8/9 to MacOS X, ExperExchange selected the Carbon API, and the engineers used the IO Kit. They developed the web applications on the MacOS X platform, rewrote all the device drivers for the client's product on MacOS X and completed an object-oriented framework from Apple. The project helped the client save over 50% of the cost. The client was satisfied and signed a continued MacOS X-based software service contract with ExperExchange.
